Setoguchi Racks Up Two More Points in Domination of the Preds, 4-1
The Sharks rolled to an easy victory behind Devin Setoguchi and unlikely hero, Jody Shelly. Four different players scored for the Sharks and the only goal came off a shorthanded chance for Nashville. The Sharks have given up shorthanded goals in two straight games. Brian Boucher had 32 saves in the game.
Devin Setoguchi had the first goal of the night which came on the power play. It was his second straight game with a power play goal. The second goal came on a put back by Jody Shelley. I always celebrate extra when Shelley gets a goal. It was an extra special because his father was in attendance at the game in Nashville, as were the rest of the fathers.
In the game, Devin had one goal and one assist with four shots. He ended up with a +1 rating on 13:56 of ice time.
On the season, The Gooch is tied for fourth overall with the most points in the league. He has 11 goals and 11 assists, 22 points total. He is a +6 rating with an average time of 16:00 per game.
In comparison, Jarome Iginla has 10 goals and 11 assists on the season, and is 4th overall in Western Conference voting. He is a -2 rating with an average ice time 21:41.

The Gooch Comes Up Big In The Windy City, Sharks Win 6-5
In a back and forth game where the Sharks power play dominated and Brian Boucher bit the big one, Setoguchi came up big late in the third period to put the Sharks on top for the win.
Just :42 seconds into the game and San Jose led the young and talented Blackhawks team behind a Michalek snap shot off the draw. During the game, there was five lead changes.
Turnovers, giveaways and misplays by Brian Boucher kept the 'Hawks in this game where they should have been beaten handily. The Sharks power play rolled with four power play goals, one of which was Devin Setoguchi's game winner. Former Shark,
Brian Campbell came up big for Chicago with one goal and two assists, but to quote Drew Remenda, "Brian Campbell is no Dan Boyle." Dan Boyle had two power play goals for Team Teal.
The Sharks blew a two goal lead in the 2nd period only to roar back in the 3rd behind Devin Setoguchi who snapped a shot from the point which split players and past the screened Cristobal Huet for the game-winner. Setoguchi was named the number one star of the night for his heroics.
The fathers of the Sharks were in attendance at the United Center in Chicago which made this victory extra special for the Sharks. Brad Lukowich played in his 600th career game and Jeremy Roenick came off his schnide getting his first goal of the season.
On the night, Setoguchi had 1 goal and 1 assist. He also had 3 shots and ended up with a -1 rating with 18:30 of ice time.
On the season, the Gooch has 10 goals and 10 assists with a +5 rating. He's averaging 16:06 of ice time.
In comparison, Marian Hossa, who leads Western Conference players in votes, has 10 goals and 13 assists on the season. He's also a +8 rating with an average ice time of 18:19. If that's the guy leading the Western Conference, then The Gooch belongs up there too.

Sharks Power Play Explodes: The Gooch Tallys Assist In 6-1 Rout Of Flames
In a game where San Jose chased Miikka Kiprusoff by the start of the 2nd period, the Sharks thrived on the power play. The San Jose defense set two franchise records for most points by the defense and most assists by defense with 9 assists. The franchise set a record as well by having the most games in a single season with over 40 shots. And that record comes at only the 18th game of the young NHL season.
Devin Setoguchi had two key plays to his game tonight. One was the assist on the power play goal by Joe Thornton. Dan Boyle slapped a shot towards the net where Devin redirected it on goal. Curtis McElhinney saved the tip and the rebound bounced to Jumbo Joe for the put back.
The other key play came when defenseman Douglas Murray snapped his stick and Devin skated to Murray, handed over his stick and finished his shift in the defensive zone stickless.
In tonight's game, Setoguchi had 1 assist, 7 shots, and an ice time of 15:49.
On the season, The Gooch has 9 goals, 8 assists and 17 points through 17 games. He is a +6 rating with an average ice time of 15:58.
In comparison, Brendan Morrow, who is 2nd in overall voting in the Western Conference, has 4 goals and 10 assists through 16 games. He is a -4 rating with an average ice time of 21:44.
